99.5 namphong radio, listen all day, all night! boys town, and my hatred of the too yen!

alright!
so this week like i said befre i didnt have class until friday, but i was gonna go on monday just to wish my friends luck on thier exams, but when monday rolled around, i got up early, showered, went to my room to get dressed, only to realize thatthe dayy before i put all my clothes in the wash, and then the maid took all of them to iron em,which left me, in my room, sopping wet, with no uniform, which ment i couldent go to school, well... alright then, you cant blame me for not trying!

the next day i went to kk and hung out with megan, shes an exchange student from afs, we just went all around the city going to the usual places, the market, tukom mall, the dvd stores, what we usually do..

wednesday...
nothing remarkable.

thursday, i found out there were some people from oklahoma with rotary, the were spendin a month in thailand, and were goin to visit my rotary club, so on thursday tak(shes the daughter of my host moms friend, she speaks really good english, and djs at namphong radio on the weekends, remember that, its important)and i tagged along with them, they were 5 people around 30, 2 guys and 3 girls they were.....
pshhhh...
from.... oklahoma?
i don know they were people, i spent a few hours with them!
its kinda funny, something i realized one of the guys goes up to me and goes, oh hey your from cali right?
and then something clicked,i can always tell if people arent from california, cause no one from california, ever calls it cali, micheal oneof the teachers at namphonsuksa asked me the same thing right after he told me he was from new york, i really dont know if this will intrest you guys at all, but hey its my blog!
i do what i want

anyways...we went to a projet of the community that takes care of "orpaned" boys i say "orphaned"because many times in thailand, thai men will have a few children with thier wife, and once the wife is using all of her time raising the children, the father will go out and find a much younger woman to"take care" of him, and in some cases the mother just cannot care for all the children that the man has left her with, and children are abandoned.
the boys town takes in boys from familys that either cannot take care of them, wont take care of them, or boys whose parents have died in either accidents, drugs or, and give them a place to stay, work and live, while they go through elementry, high school and in some cases supporsts them through universitys.
the boys that live thre go to school, and farm the land, growing mangos coconuts and other vegetables, and sell them in the market(the food they grow is increadible, hotels in khon kaen buy it form them, and the mangos are said to be the best in namphong), they also have soccer and tukrow(its like vollyball with your feet) teams that play teams from other schools and groups, and even though the other teams have fancy equipment and better supplys the boys town team is the one that wins the championships!
so i went with the dudes from oklahoma and visited the boys town and met the guys that lived there, i was even able to speak thai with them!

after vistiing boys town we had lunch, the we took the gse people to visit the snake village!
youy know the place where they have little children fight cobras, and old guys fight16 fot king cobras!!
anyways it was as crazy as last time, only in one of the fights the snake won!
yeah the kid didnt move fast enough and it snagged his leg!
the fight was stopped, and another kid came out and pulled it out of kid 1's
leg and then he went ringht back at fightin the snakes!!
(if you want to hear more about the snake village, look at like my first month of blogs, yoyull find it)

ALLRIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THATS IT IM PISSED!!!
ive gotta vent, you know one thing i wont miss when i leave here?
one thing im gonna be glad to never see again???
THAI REFRIGERATORS!
im sreious!
i just got up to go and cook myself some dinner(i cooked some noodelles fried them up with seasoning and egg, kind like pad thai)
anyways i go to reach into the frige to get an onion, and as always, im blasted by a horrendous stench of bad fish meat, and mold, something ivecome to terms with, after i poke moldy bits of "food" out of the way with a pencil i reach the onions, i go to reach for one, and heres the last straw, something from the upper shelf BLED ON ME!!
yes blood from some kind of animal, probalby stiilll half alive BLED all over my hand!
and im serious, every thai fidge ive ev er seen has been just about this discusting!
it think im gonna stick to eatin coconuts, ill shake the tree in the yard, yeah, thatll work.

where was i?
oh so agfter the snake thing the oklahomies headed out and i was hangin out with tak and she invites me to go with her on saturday to the radio station and help dj, sweet!
so well skip over friday, cause ive been there, nothin life changin hapened
SOOO saturday around4 oclock she picks me up on her motorcycle, and we head to the studio?yeah i think thats what you call it.
we get there i meet some of the other djs and we go into this little room with egg crates all over the walls 2 computers earmuffs and those mirophones with that mesh thingie over the top.
we sat down, i actulally introduced myself, i talked about where i went to school and where i was form, and sheed play thai music, some english, like maroon 5, she told me if i was able to get a cd with some american music, we could play some next time i came to help out, anyways my account of it might sound boring, but it was fun, wed tlak for like 3.5 min., shed put an say some advertisements, put on a new song, then continue our conversation.

hm oh, i also found out that im gonna have to play guitar at the inboud rotay confrence ina week and a half, sooo i have to figure out what to play, imkinda stuck on jack johnson right now, so its either gonna be "flake", or sittin, waiting, wishing.
hmm ill figure it out
well i think that might wrap it up for me
sorry bout the late post

Great, the first thing that comes to mind is the story about the refrigerator! I might stick to coconuts too when I get there!

Interesting stories about the DJ, sounds like you had a good time. Now you just have to find a CD with American Music. You have any there?

Sorry to hear about the kid and the snake, is he ok? Sounded like life goes on during the show.

I'll catch you later, thanks for the blog.
