a concert, and my venting(hope your ready for this)

hmm ok so last time i left you guys i was gonna head out to ubon for new years eve and to see bodyslam in concert!
first off i want to say sorry for the late post, but it was juwst easier cause i got backon wed, to wait till sunday, and make one big post


here we go
ok, so ill streamline this process a bit, basically my friend maria was supposed to come down with me, but at midnight the night before we were supposed to head out, i get a call saying the other rotary moms arent allowing her mom to let her go to the concert! this, in a word, sucked.
so it looks like im heading out on my owm, sooo that morn i got up like at 5 or so to catch the first bus, i rode the bus for about 6 hrs( its funny car and bus rides dont seem that boring or long anymore, i really dont consider a car ride long until it hits the 2-3hr mark, i guess its cause im always riding the bus that i dont even realize it any more...imagine that, im becoming patient....)
oh so the person im staying with is a friend of mine named toey, shes a friend of joelle,who is an exchange student from tahoe, california(oh joelles real mom and moms boyfriend are visiting her for like 2 weeks, they were cool enough to let me hang out with them on the days between the concert and when i go home)
so i got ther and me my host family, and joelles family and that night just hung out with a bunch of thai friends, playing cards, guitar, you know just hanging out.


so the next day was the concert, so we3ll... not musch really happened earlier that day, so ill just skip to the concert, is that cool with you?
good, im glad.

so it was just joelle a kid from germany and karly, another excahnge student, karly went before us and flirted with the roadies, and was allowed backstage, joelle and i came about15 min before the band got there and well i flirted with the roadies, and they let us go to the area where the band would park the van and get out!
soo we waited and eventually the band came, and we were within like teon feet from them(ok so ive gotta explain something to youguys, bodyslam is one of the BIGGEST bands in thailand, i asked joelle what we could relate going to this concert to in the us, she looked at me and said one word.
woodstock.
and she was probably right, cause from on the stage i couldent see where the crowd of people stopped!
wait, ryan, how would you know what the crowd looked like from ontop the stage??

so here we are 10ft from the band, screaming yelling and cheering them on, they wave at us and then climb the stairs to get on stage, it was here that i took a gamble... joelle had been joking with me earier that day that we had to stick together in a crowd, cause it was easy to mistake me for a thai person....
so right after they climbed up i pulled on my hood and grabbed joelle and strolled right past security and onto the stage!!!
pretty slick huh??

so here we are leaning against the amps and gguitars whuile bodyslam was rocking out, after a while the roadies realized we shouldent be there, but after alot of pleading and quick talking they let us stay!

first off the concert was absolutly amazing!
but there were things that happened that made it all the more glorious!

so im chillin there right next to the amps, and periodically the lead guitarist could come over and a roadie would hand him an energy drink bottle, heed take a swig and dance back on stage, one time he came over, and i started to cheer for him, he looked over at me, took a drink of his energy drink, and yelled out to me
"hey you want a drink??!!""(most bands speak very good english, cause they travel so much)
i answer "sure!!"
he hands me the bottle and i take a huge gulp, cause well im thinking energy drink...
uh-uh

i take my massive gulp ad fight to keep the buring liquid down as it burns all the wayinto my belly!!
it turns out that hedd filled the bottle with straight whiskey!!

coughing and sputtering i toos the bottle back to him, he just laughs at me for a while, takes another swig and runs back onstage!

a little while later, me joelle lucas the german and one of joelles friends are agin just hangin out in the back when we notice the bass and guitar player talking, they look at us and nod, the bass player comes over(still playing mind oyou)
and goes "hey wanna come out and jusmp with us???"
befoer i can answer a big roadie(when i say big, i mean the was one opf those unnatural thai dudes who manged to ignore the normals and be MASSIVE) grabs me by the arm and forces me joelle lucas and a thai girl onstage!
ok you guys remember THIS IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST BANDS IN THAILAND!!!!!!!!!!!
AND WERE ION STAGE JUMPING, DANCING, AND ROCKING OUT WITH ALL OF THEM!!!!!!!!!

when the song finished the lead singer thanked all of us(he... thanked....us...hmmm)
andwe went still shaking from the sheer awesomeness of the whole experiance, to our spot by the guitars for a few more songs, then security found us and forced uss off the stage... but who cares!
we were onstage dancing with bodyslam, and i dank,accidently, out of the guitarists private whiskey!!!

new years was fun too, all we did was eat, set off fireworks, sing kareoke, and sit on a balcony and play guitaer till like 3am or so...

-amelie, it was french, and hillarious, and made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!
-stardust, i was iffy at first, but i got tottaly engrossed in the movie, funny, and alot of action!
and finnaly
-i am legend, i cant even explain how increadible it is, go. now. watch it!


oh yeah, i promised toey id put this im my bolog, when i was hanging out with all of the thai friends, they came up with a new nickna,e for me, mee noi
it basicallly means little bear, i like it enough said

hmm ok so now is the point of my blog that i get to vent to all of you, ready, cause i am!
alright, so i get home and my host mom informs me that im gonna have to move back to mae tuks house the next day, i ask why, and at first she wouldent give me a straight answer, so i stalled and toldher how it qwould take me a couple days to pack, so if i had to move i should move on the weekend, after a bit of pleading she agreed, so i decided to wait until the next day to fnd out why.
net day came and i stared to ask my host mom why, and, again after a while, she told me that the director of namphongsuksa school(ive honestly never even met the dude, iof i have, i dont remember it, all i know about him is that hes really uptight and he doesnt like me wearing shorts at rotary meetings, hes always complained to my host parents about me, never to me!) was angry that i had been goin to the hospital(and learning) instead of going to his school(and taking up space!) and he(like a mature adult, complained to my my rotary moms and forced them to make me move so id be closer to the school and further away from the hospital!
he also told them that he doesent want me going to observe in the ER or OR any more!
i mean most of you guys know, but if you dont, i plan on, once i get back, pursuing a nursing license and goin into the medical field, so what im learning there, i know this, and so do my host moms,is far more important than sitting in a desk from 7 to 4 learning absolutly nothing(i already graduated remember!)
i mean the only reason he wants me thaere is that he wants the publicity of having an exchange student at his school!
ok
im done it think, im gonna go and talk to him tommorro i think and try to explain things, but i was evicted the other day, and im now back at mae tuks house...
i dont mind that so much though, shes an awesome cook...
